I'm planning a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail starting next spring 2013. This is Willie, who is helping me get ready. He doesn't look like it here, but he's a fireball of energy...okay, he's a little lazy sometimes. He's not going with me on the big hike, but he's been on a lot of practice hikes. This pic was taken at Sam Moore Shelter just south of Bear's Den in northern VA.
