I pretty much have all the gear I need and I've done about all the planning I can. I want to get a few more miles on my boots, and I'm still considering a lighter backpack (I could probably save a pound or so if I swapped the White Mountain pack I've been practicing with, plus the way the pockets are laid out drives me a little crazy), but overall I'm ready to go. I'm planning on the trip taking 22 weeks, so I'll get to Katahdin sometime in late August if everything goes okay.
So ... All you need is a start date, and some way to get down south, one way. Orders, and greyhound?
