Before crossing the mighty Hudson River in New York State, the AT runs through Bear Mountain State Park, another great park offering visitors the opportunity to spend some quality time in the great outdoors. Bear Mountain is a little more on the developed side, with inns, lodges and conference centers available, but it's still a slice of wilderness that's very accessible from the surrounding cities.
I'm now just three weeks away from the start of the hike!
Any minute now this blog is going to be picked up by good morning America or the View and you're going to have millions of housewives coming out in their aprons and housecoats to cheer you on. I'm just sayin.
