Hot Springs, NC and Trailfest

I think this might be a cottonmouth, but it's hard to tell with that mouse or whatever stuffed in his face...it was right alongside the trail yesterday.


I'm through the Smokies!  It's hard to believe, and I'm 10 per cent done! I rolled into Hot Springs this morning and they're having Trailfest this weekend, so I'm considering staying the night.

Yesterday was pouring rain and last night was one of the coldest I've seen. It makes me realize that I've been super lucky with the weather so far.  We saw patches of leftover snow and ice above 5000 ft, but we had great weather all through the Smokies.
