After a 22-mile day, I've made it to Monson, the last bit of civilization before the Hundred Mile Wilderness. My mom came out to see me, and not only brought me a re-supply from the Walmart in Bangor, she also took me out for dinner! Talk about your Trail Angels! Thanks, Mom!
I'm still planning to summit Katahdin on the 14th. Hikers register at Katahdin Stream Campground and stay at The Birches lean-to at the foot of the mountain the night before summiting. If the weather is bad on the 14th, then the 15th will be the day!
